There are many different factors to take into account when choosing a nursery. Do you want the focus to be on fun and exercise, ensuring your child is properly tuckered out upon collection? Or is their education more of a priority?
Then there are the finer points to consider; many parents now consider a totally organic diet to be beneficial to their child’s mental and physical health. Smaller group sizes make it easier for children to fit in. Does the nursery follow a particular framework, such as the government’s ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’? OFSTED reports are very useful for determining the quality of care your child will receive.
Childcare is, of course, a costly business. Some nurseries operate schemes in conjunction with the government to make it more affordable, such as Childcare Vouchers. Those parents on low or middle incomes should investigate Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit, designed to make returning to a moderately paid job after having children more financially viable.
